The sturdy and robust Bunker is a well known name in Eindhoven. For many generations of TU/e students, the former student bunker of the Technical University was the place to be for a vibrant student life. There used to be parties until late at night. It is on the minds of many as a striking and robust concrete building. It was designed by Huug Maaskant in the sixties, the famous architect of the reconstruction after WW2. In recent years the building has fallen into disrepair and became a closed bastion. With the renovation and the addition of a more than 100 meters high iconic residential tower, the Bunker is transforming into a residential environment with respect for its history. In addition to the residential function, a grand-café, office space and a green park, which serves as an extension of the green zone of the TU/e, will also be added. Make sure to visit this new icon, now called BunkerToren, when it’s completed in 2022.
